monday quote.

Dear Baby,
I hope someday someone wants to hold you for twenty minutes straight. All they do is wrap you up in their arms without an ounce of selfishness to it.

...Jenna Hunterson, Waitress

Please go see this movie. It's quirky and sweet and different. But don't take your kids. It's not their kind of movie. Here's my baby, who is so busy, she rarely lets me hold her for twenty minutes straight anymore, but sometimes she still does. And it's wonderful.

In the recent weeks, some of our visitors have said I hold TLO too much - that I'm going to spoil her by being too quick to pick her up, and too slow to put her down once she falls asleep on my chest. My answer to them is that someday she won't let me hold her like that, and I'm going to get as much in while she'll still let me. After reading your post, I hope that time doesn't come so soon. I was thinking more like 16 years from now...not 1 year. As always, thanks for showing me glimpses of my future.

Oh! I hear, "Mom, can you hold me?" at least ten times a day. I have to always remind myself that one day soon they won't ask and won't want to be held.
Time flies and I don't want to look back and think, "I should have held them more."
Thanks for reminding me of this today.

Alida's comment almost made me cry.

It is so true.

Lots of 'hold me requests' or an Na say's 'I hold you?', and we have to remember the day will come when it will stop.

Love the movie...I want to see it!!!

Since I'm not a mom, all I can say is that I love the blog's new look! Nice work. And thanks for the movie recommendation - I thought it looked like a good one.

Courtney- I'm glad you're not listening to those people...hold her as much as you can for as long as she'll let you. I settle for storytimes and sling walks as a substitute for those long cuddle ups we had when she was smaller. Enjoy your girl and tell those people that you can't spoil and infant...she's still used to being connected to her mommy 24/7!

Hayes, glad you like the change. I've been doing some major spring cleaning and it spilled over into the blog.
