i may have run out of cute stories.

The last few weeks, I've been frustrated. Bitter. Tired. Claire resumed her nap strike, Everett started cutting teeth (5, in case anyone is counting), which for him involves long nights curled in my lap. And Nate has been annoying me by doing super-annoying things like leaving the house to go to work and breathing.

I can manage a few nights without sleep, but it doesn't take long for me to resent my kids for infringing on my time. Do you ever read something and you're like, "Dude, me too!" Steph's great post made me realize that staying quiet hasn't helped. I have not been easy to live with, I am tired and for me postpartum depression seems to magically hit between months 5-6.

I have a lot to learn from this guy. He cut five teeth last week and still manages to wake up happy and smiles ALL THE TIME.

Yes, me too! ME TOO! So much me too that I had to fly out of the state just so that my family could have a few happy days without my bitterness reigning down on them.

I'm so glad you shared. We think it's easier to stay quiet, but somehow it doesn't. quite. work. It's such a relief knowing that I am not alone.

Hang in there.

Ugg! I am so sorry for the long days and nights. Doesn't it seem that as soon as you feel you might just be getting into a rhythm with two ..... somebody gets sick, or cuts teeth, or learns to crawl out of the crib. It can just royally suck sometimes.
For what it's worth I just love reading your snippets on motherhood. They totally make me laugh. I love that saying that the days are long but the years go by fast. Keep talking to people. And I'd love to bring you a coffee sometime when the world just doesn't seem to be smiling. Coffee forces a smile. And a potty break a half hour after drinking.

A hot dog at Costco make things a bit brighter for me, even if it's only for a few minutes. :) Wait, maybe it wasn't the hot dog, maybe it was another normal human being. Hmm.

curly...maybe you could drive up the gang (to spare a tired Kari from driving) and we could have a little visit. We could throw all the kids together and hope for the best. Or, maybe I could brave the drive down. Hmmm...maybe we could get a sitter and have a spa day!!

I vote for a spa day. :)

I think we can come to you though, Ang. We've had a couple of good nights sleep, so I'm feeling a little more sane.

Let's plan something, with or without the kiddos.

Ok, it serously must be something in the water around here and kiddos not sleeping. Diego had a rough month and it included not a lot of good sleep. We're on the road to better sleep, but no where near sleeping all night. Poor little Everett cut 5 teeth in a week? UGH, not fun. I am glad to see your comment here that you got some good nights sleep Kari, so glad. Cause I have felt your feelings and its not fun. Hang in there and hope to see you at MOPS soon!
